SUBJECT: WSE PTO - Welcome WSE Families to 2024-25 School Year

PTO President Newsletter - August 19th, 2024
President's Message

Welcome to a new school year at Wolf Springs Elementary!

My name is Sam Bao, and I am honored to serve as your PTO President for the upcoming year. To all returning families, get ready for another wonderful school year. To all the new families, welcome to our little wolf pack. I'm excited to connect with all of you.

We have a lot of amazing activities and programs planned for this year, and we're eager to share what we have planned to make this year memorable for our students, families, and school.

Be sure to bookmark our website for all the up to date information and resources. Like and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to catch latest announcements.

Thank you for your support and involvement. Together, we can make this school year fantastic for our students!

Announcements

First, I wanted to invite everyone to our first PTO meeting of the year tomorrow 8/20/2024 at 9am at the school. We will have a zoom link for those of you that want to attend remotely. Typically, we have PTO meetings monthly, and all of our meetings (and PTO events) are listed on the calendar on our website. So I invite everyone that has interest and time to attend. And for those of you who can't make it, we also will post our meeting agenda and minutes online as well.

Join the PTO and Stay Connected

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to join the PTO. Your membership fees help fund our operations and support enriching activities and programs for our school community. Plus, members gain access to our online directory, which is a fantastic way to stay connected with other families.

For this year's membership drive, we want to reach our goal of signing up 100 family memberships by end of September.

There is ZERO obligation or commitment to be a PTO member beyond signing up and paying your membership fee

So please help us reach our goal by signing up today!join the PTO

Donate To Our School

I want to highlight the “Invest in WSE” program, our primary fundraiser program. It's straightforward a cash donation program which eliminates the need for students to sell wrapping paper, magazines, or chocolate bars (or parents to have to do any legwork.) It's the easiest and least time consuming, yet immensely impactful, way to help support the PTO, and your donations directly benefit our students and school community.

We are starting this year's fundraiser campaign with a goal of reaching $10,000 donated through "Invest in WSE" by the end of September. We will be giving weekly updates on our progress, and if we reach our goal, there will be a surprise in store for our students.

Please help by Investing in WSE today! (And don't forget to ask your company about corporate matching.)

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a wonderful way to get involved and help out. We have various opportunities throughout the year. There's no obligation or commitment, but we love and appreciate any engagement. And if you don't know what you want to do, just put your name in the generic volunteer slot on this sign up genius.

Looking Ahead

Be sure to mark your calendars for our first major event, Family Fun Day and Movie Night, on October 5th! (Details forthcoming) It’s a great chance to have fun with family and friends while supporting our school community.

For a full list of events, check out our public calendar available on our website. There is also an At-A-Glance view for those that just want to see the whole picture concisely.

Support Our School Community Local Small Businesses

Lastly, we are looking to building a network to support the small businesses owned by our school families. If you own a small business or have connections to one, we’d love to hear from you. This network will not only help our community support each other but also provide opportunities for PTO sponsorships. Just send us a message as we begin to form a rolodex of our school community businesses.
